Straw sandals わらぞうり

ご近所の農家の方からとてもきれいな稲藁を一束いただいたので、はじめてのわらぞうり作りに挑戦してみました。左のが一作目。右のが二作目。進歩のあとが見られるでしょうか・・・

作り方は「わらぞうり（わらじ）　つくりかた」で検索。色々な方がわかりやすい動画を提供してくださっていたので、なんとかできあがりました。感謝！

材料はまったく藁だけ。縦糸や鼻緒になる縄も自分で綯いました。

お米作りは本当に無駄のない尊いお仕事だとしみじみ感動しました。

My neighbor lady whose family grow rice gave me a bundle of rice straw the other day.  So I made a pair of straw sandal for the first time.  The left one is my first attempt, and the right one is the second.  I hope some improvements can be seen in them.  The material is nothing but rice straw.  I made the straw ropes for the warps and the straps myself.  A lot of videos on the web taught me how to make them.  I am so grateful to all the people who shared their expertise.  Thank you so much!

Growing rice is such a sacred work.  Everything they make contributes to our everyday life.

Yoko-farm 21 陽光ファーム21

宇陀市には有機農場がたくさんありますが、そのなかでも榛原栗谷の陽光ファーム21では、平飼いの生みたて卵や鴨肉が買えて、レストランも併設されています。お米とお野菜は会員になって申し込むようです。下の写真の大きな屋根は鶏舎の建物です。

 農園レストランNODOKARIのランチはこんなでした。写真のはカモ鉄板焼き。野菜の串あげ、自家農園の卵でつくったプリン、飲み物つき。サラダ、ごはん、みそ汁はおかわり自由。　かも鍋もおいしかったです。（前日までに要予約）
ディナーもとっても豪華でおいしい・・と知人に教えてもらいました。
榛原駅、菟田野、大宇陀エリアは送迎もしてもらえるそうです。（お店に要確認）

There are many organic farms in Uda-city.  Yoko-farm 21 is one of them.  They sell fresh organic eggs and duck meat at their headquarters located in Haibara-Kuridani. Their rice and vegetables are for members only.  They also run a organic restaurant adjacent to the headquarters.  Duck meat dishes are their specialties.  I had duck meat steak lunch the other day.  It was delicious.  The steak came with grilled vegetable, fried breaded vegetable, salad, rice, miso-soup, coffee/tea, and custard pudding made from their farm fresh eggs.  We could ask for refills of rice, miso-soup, and salad.   http://www.yoko-farm21.co.jp/
They have free transportation service for dinner guests from Haibara-station or other surrounded areas.
